Recently, a vulnerability within Draytek routers and firewalls has been identified and is actively being exploited by cybercriminals. This vulnerability is causing intermittent connectivity issues for customers using these devices as their primary routers or firewalls. However, there is some good news for those who are using Router for Life Draytek models. All Router for Life Draytek devices have already been patched beyond the vulnerability in question. These devices, which are part of a special security programme, have received regular firmware updates that ensure they remain secure from this and other potential threats. As such, customers with Router for Life Draytek models should not experience the same connectivity issues and can rest assured that their devices are protected. For all non Router for Life Draytek customers please ensure your device is secure and protected from this vulnerability, it is essential to upgrade your firmware to the latest release. By updating to the latest firmware, you can effectively patch the vulnerability and avoid potential disruptions or security risks. If you're unsure how to check for or install the latest firmware on your Draytek device, the Exa Customer Operations team is available to guide you through the process. They can assist you in checking your device’s current firmware version and help you install the updated firmware to secure your network.

We have received multiple calls from customers who are unable to access the internet when using SurfProtect. From our diagnostics, we have been able to determine that the issue only affects devices using a proxy, devices using transparent filtering are not affected. Removing the proxy from an affected device will allow it to access the internet, but please we aware that removing the proxy from a device could alter the filtering profile assigned to the user. Our Services team are investigating this and we will provide further updates as soon as we have them.
