Exa Networks - Notice history

Our Networking team will be performing maintenance in our Halifax PoP to resolve an issue with one of our Darklight switches. The maintenance will take place on 25/07/2023 between 18:00 - 21:00. During the maintenance window you will see a loss of connectivity for Darklight services in the Halifax area for around 10 minutes.

Our suppliers will be performing emergency maintenance which will affect one of our core links, this will happen between 22:00 pm and 06:00 am on the 1st of July to 2nd of July During the maintenance traffic will be re-routed via redundant fibre paths so customer connectivity will not be directly impacted by the maintenance. Our supplier will be performing maintenance on 23/06/2023 which will affect one of our core links, this will happen between 22:00 and 01:00. Our network engineering team will be migrating our DWDM platform to new equipment, this will be used to support our DWDM platform between Manchester and Bradford, as this is at the end of its product lifecycle and needs to be refreshed. The maintenance will occur on 20/06/2023 between 19:00 - 23:30. During the maintenance traffic will be re-routed via redundant fibre paths so the customer’s connectivity will not be directly impacted by the maintenance. Customers who take optical wavelengths between Manchester and Bradford will experience brief disruption whilst we migrate the fibre path to the new equipment and experience up to 30 minutes of disruption.

Our suppliers will be performing emergency maintenance this evening which will affect one of our backhaul links, this will happen between 22:00 pm and 06:00 am. During the maintenance traffic will be re-routed via redundant fibre paths so customer's connectivity will not be directly impacted by the maintenance. Due to network growth and maintaining high-capacity links for network resilience, our engineering team will be performing maintenance on our core network to increase our core capacity to 100Gbps between Leeds and London. During the maintenance, our engineering team will re-route network traffic via redundant paths so customer services are not directly affected by the maintenance.

We will need to power down one of our SurfProtect servers in London to facilitate a RAM upgrade, this will result in all customers on that sever experience a lack of internet during the work. The upgrade should take 10 minutes to compete, but we will be allocating a 1 hour window for the work, this gives time for the relevant department to ensure all services are fully operation before closing off the maintenance.
