Exa Networks - Notice history

On Wednesday 27th December between 10am and 12pm we will be carrying updates to our SurfProtect servers. Each server will be rebooted independently of each other to minimise the impact, but all SurfProtect customers will experience up to 10 minutes of downtime at some point during this window. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Our suppliers will be conducting essential maintenance, this maintenance is crucial for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our services. While we strive to minimise any inconvenience, it's important to note that during this maintenance there is a potential risk it could impact our core network, which means you may experience temporary disruption in services. We understand the importance of our services to your operations, and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. Our supplier is performing maintenance on their core infrastructure which will result in our xDSL & FTTx services experiencing disruption during the maintenance windows. Our supplier is building a new core network, this change will help with an overall improvement to their services. Our suppliers have infomed us this maintenance will no longer be going ahead and will be re-booked for a later date.

Our existing infrastructure used to support our DWDM platform in Manchester is now at the end of its product lifecycle and needs to be refreshed. On 02/11/2023 between 19:00-23:30, our engineering team will be migrating our DWDM platform to new equipment. During the maintenance traffic will be re-routed via redundant fibre paths so customer connectivity will not be directly impacted. Customers who take optical wavelengths between Manchester and Bradford will experience brief disruption whilst we migrate to the new equipment. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding as we work to provide you with a better, more efficient platform.

Our suppliers will be performing maintenance on 15/10/2023 which should not be service-affecting. However, in the event this was a service affecting network traffic would take alternate routes through our network If you experience any issues after the maintenance, please call our helpdesk on 0345 145 1234.

Following on from the successful rollout at 4pm, we will be rolling out the patch the remaining servers in the cluster. We have tested the deployment with an affected customer and fully tested in house. The rollout will begin at 5pm, with customers expected to experience no more than one minutes downtime during the window. We will be carrying out emergency maintenance at 4pm today that will impact one of our Quantum servers. Customer using this server should see no more than a one minute downtime during the maintenance window. The work is to release a patch for an issue we have had reported by multiple customers relating to Google Sites webpages. The patch has been fully tested in house, but we will be on hand to rollback this work should it be needed. We apologise for the short notice for this release.
