Exa Networks - Power Maintenance - Manchester Data Centre Continued – Maintenance details

Due to our data centre in Manchester upgrading their main power feed to a new provider, we are required to swap our power feeds from our hardware over to the new provider. The work will be carried out between our service engineers and the data centre operatives. We will be carrying out on an evening to minimise the impact that the loss of power to some hardware will cause. During the work, some servers will lose power and services will be affected. The affected services this evening are as follows; - SurfProtect - Real-Time Alerts and Website Analytics will be unavailable during the work, all logs will be populated once the work has been completed. - Unixwebs - All websites hosted via Exa will be unavailable during the works. - IMAP and POP - All incoming will see a brief disruption whilst it fails over to the backup service. All emails will still be delivered but may see a slight delay. VoIP - Any Exa VoIP customers will see some brief disruption as we work on the VoIP server, but traffic will failover t the backup system. - Core Network - We will also be carrying out work on some core switches, these are dual power supplied so should not go down, but as work is being carried out in these racks, they will be considered as 'at risk' during the maintenance window. Our services engineers will remain on-site at the data centre until all affected services have been checked and are fully operational again.
